We’ve been working for almost 2 years on The Better Baby Book, making it easy to understand what we did to have healthier, more intelligent babies, why we chose the things we did, and how you can do it too. Along the way, we’ve created a book that is very readable and accessible, yet backed by 1300 references to scientific research. The unedited manuscript is in the neighborhood of 100,000 words and has new awesome diagrams to make the program easy to understand.
We are working with a wonderful agent from out of New York who works for ICM, or International Creative Management. In 2009, ICM represented more than 100 titles on the New York Times Best Seller list and they represent all kinds of interesting people from Jon Stewart to Jesse Jackson to Ellen DeGeneres. But most important of all (to us anyway!), ICM is the agency that represents Dr. Seuss.
Anyhow, we reached a major milestone this week. Our proposal was accepted by our agent at ICM as being ready to send to actual publishers who will buy the manuscript. 2 days after it went out, we’re getting interest! This is a very good sign and we couldn’t be happier about it.
As soon as we have a publisher and an approximate date for publishing, we’ll let you know. In the meantime, we’re continuing to update and enrich our book’s companion website.
We believe that the knowledge in our book can positively influence the lives of hundreds of thousands of children and their parents. Please wish us luck as we continue our discussions with large publishers!
Thanks for your support,
Lana & Dave
P.S. If you’re wondering what you can do to help, we’d love it if you liked us on Facebook or most especially made some comments on our blog. We’ll keep posting interesting stuff, we promise!
